Disable “My Network Places”

IT Problem

If you are trying to make your network more secure , one of the ways to do so is to stop people using my network places. This stops people from browsing to other computers or servers therefore making these pc` more secure. We can disable my network paces with a group policy. Follow the guide below to do so.

IT Solution

We first need to create the group policy..

1) Open Group Policy Management
2) Go to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Explorer
3) Then Disable No “Computers Near Me” in My Network Places
4) Then Disable No “Entire Network” in My Network Places

You then need to apply the policy to the users who you want to ban.
