Cannot Download Attachments in Outlook

Problem

Out of the box Microsoft outlook blocks all sorts of file extensions.This is a security feature as microsoft think that the majority of people will not require these files via email.

This simple reg edit allows whatever extension you specify through.

Resolution

Click start Run then enter “regedit”

Locate the key below

HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Software
Microsoft
Office
10.0 or 11.0 or 12, no 13 ( microsoft are superstitious ) 14 etc
Outlook
Security

Add a new string value: – Level1Remove
With a data string: – .exe;.com

In the Data string simply enter whatever file extension you would like to allow through.

Outlook Files

Reboot and your files will now be available in Microsoft outlook
